There’s something about being in an unfamiliar place, with no commitments, and hours to kill that lights my fire. Often I find myself anxious in unfamiliar situations, but that is usually tied to an expectation or a commitment. So, when I find myself in a new place without any expectations, it’s rather freeing.
No place to be. No schedule to follow. It’s probably the most relaxed I can feel. Over the last couple of years I have made a discovery about myself. I feel most rested when I can have no schedule for the day. Even if I do a ton in that day, the mere fact that it’s spontaneous helps me to feel relaxed and ultimately rested.
So take a random trip cause you can. Go somewhere you where you’re the stranger, bring a book, a camera, and an empty stomach.
