Memories Matter

Okay, I know you're probably thinking that you can't afford quality photography, you'll just use your phone and print them yourself, you don't have time for a photo session, blah blah blah. I get it. Photography is expensive, and it does take time. But, can I take a minute and tell you the value that photographs have had throughout my life?

My mom, like most, was always taking photos, but unlike many she was always printing them as well. Yes, she took her own, but I have also had my photo professionally taken countless times growing up. And there's prints on the wall in my parent's house to prove it. We had so many albums I would sift through over and over as a child. Instead of scrolling on Instagram looking at everyone else's life happen I was remembering the blessings of mine.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd bet you love looking through old photographs, not on your phone, but in an album/book you can hold in your hand. A book you can keep on a shelf or coffee table easily accessible for when you need the warm fuzzies that memories bring.

Is it worth the time and money? You tell me.

If you ask anyone close to me, they will tell you that I don't really keep much. I throw away just about everything. Except photographs. Ever since I was little I loved collecting photographs for scrapbooking. I have one from when I was younger, and a specific one from my high school years. I love being able to hold a photograph in my hand.

Top middle: My favorite graduation gift. An album my mom put together of photographs from my entire childhood.
Bottom Middle: Scrapbook of all the places I traveled in college.
Left: At Matt and I's wedding we had a book at each table for the table number. Everyone wrote kind words or advice, and on that wedding anniversary we read them. I get about 25 photos from that year printed and tape them in the back of the book.
Right: A box of misc photos from the past 8 years, college, Matt & I, trips, family & friends.

So, yes I would love to take your photos, but it's not just because I need to eat, it's because I truly believe that memories matter.
